The method of anchoring the wire rope to the drums is a fail-safe structure with a special drum that an extra maintenance winding is maintained. Users can easily and surely anchor the end of a wire rope to the drum by using the attached hex wrench. The above features are all enabled thanks to our unique reliable safety design.
Description of automatic brake mechanism
Action of automatic brake
Figure 1 shows the state before the start of lifting, and Figure 2 shows the state where the work is taking place or the brake mechanism is operating. If you install the handle and rotate it clockwise, clutch pinion (14) and clutch (20) are tightened, and ratchet gear (18) and brake lining (21) adhere tightly to each other to come together and lift the load as shown in Figure 2. When lowering a load, the force of free fall of the load acts on clutch pinion (14) and produces the force to tighten the screw. If you rotate the handle counterclockwise, the screw is loosened. An appropriate gap is created between brake lining (21) and ratchet gear (18) as shown in Figure 1, so you can lower the load at a desired rotation speed. It is possible to stop the lifting and lowering in any position because the automatic brake is set as shown in Figure 2 and the stopper (23) engages to the ratchet gear (18) as shown in Figure 3. Triple thread screw used for clutch pinion (14) and clutch (20) provides efficient tightening with smaller pitch. In addition, the lead is three times large and the speed of tightening and loosening the screw is fast, so it ensures momentary actions of the automatic brake.
Gap adjustment of automatic brake
P1 is the position of dodecagon hole tongued washer (22) when the automatic brake is opened (see Figure 3). P is the position when the automatic brake is closed. If the angle of P1 and P is within 10 to 15 degrees, the position is appropriate. When the automatic brake is closed, the position of dodecagon hole tongued washer (22) sometimes moves to P2. This phenomenon occurs when brake lining (21) is worn out. In such a case, remove M10 hexagon nut (47) and dodecagon hole tongued washer (22) once, tighten clutch (20) fully and then set the position of dodecagon hole tongued washer (22) to point P again. As a result of the above operations, an appropriate gap (A) is created and the appropriate action of the mechanical brake is secured.
How to operate the ratchet handle
Ratchet handle operation for Models ERSB, RSB and RST
(1) For all models, loosen the handle-holder wing-screw. Insert the handle to the handle holder. See figure 18. Tighten the handle-holder wing-screw to the blind hole, and avoid coming off of the handle while the winch is operated. If it loosen, tighten it again before continuing. Do not attach the handle in the positions other than the blind hole. The handle comes off, and it is very dangerous.
(2) Move the switch lever (red ball) to the left when facing the front side of the winch, if the wire rope is unwound from the drum (lowering). See figure 19. When the handle is moved to the left, the wire rope is unwound from the drum if the handle is reciprocated right and left.
(3) Move the switch lever (red ball) to the right when facing the front side of the winch, if the wire rope is unwound from the drum (lifting). See figure 20. When the handle is moved to the right, the wire rope is wound onto the drum if the handle is reciprocated right and left.
(4) Models ERSB, RSB and RST accommodates installation in cramped locations such as wall and floor. It can be used the same as Models ERSB, RSB and RST by rotating the handle a full 360 degrees.
(5) For Models ERSB, RSB and RST, the drum cannot be rotated correctly without load. The load of 2% or more of the load rotating acts to the drum, and the drum can be rotated correctly.
